MedVentive Selected for Mid-West BluePrint Health IT Innovation Exchange Summit
MedVentive was selected as one of 10 vendor participants in the Mid-West BluePrint Health IT Innovation Exchange Summit on Nov. 29. MedVentive was chosen from a field of nearly 40 technology companies by the Summit’s Advisory Board members and hospital participants, including St. Vincent Health (IN), Alegent Health (NE), Hennepin County Medical Center (MN), Visiting Nurse Service of NY (NY) and TriHealth (OH).

MedVentive Closes $12 Million in New Funding
MedVentive announced today the completion of a $12 million Series D investment, led by two new provider-based investors. National Healthcare Services (NHS) and CHV II, LP, both focused on transformative technology for the healthcare market, were joined by MedVentive’s existing investors, which include CHV Capital, Core Capital Partners, Excel Venture Management, HLM Venture Partners and Long River Ventures. Including CHV Capital, MedVentive now has the backing of three of the nation’s most prestigious hospital investors.

Charlie D. Baker Joins MedVentive Board of Directors
Massachusetts businessman and former Republican gubernatorial nominee Charlie Baker will join the MedVentive governing board today. Mr. Baker has led a distinguished career in the healthcare industry and public service.
In the 1990s, Mr. Baker served as Secretary of Health and Human Services and Secretary of Administration and Finance under Massachusetts Governors Bill Weld and Paul Cellucci, where he earned the Distinguished Service Award from the National Governor’s Association.

East End Health Alliance Hospitals Form a Clinically Integrated Physician Hospital Organization Powered by MedVentive
East End Health Alliance and its member Hospitals, Eastern Long Island Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center, and Southampton Hospital, have entered into an agreement with MedVentive to provide East End Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) on Long Island, New York with MedVentive Population Manager. Formed by East End Health Alliance, East End PHO is intended to create a clinically integrated system of healthcare delivery for residents of Eastern Long Island. The group, whose startup costs are funded by a federal grant, seeks to improve healthcare outcomes while reducing costs.

Virginia Premier Health Plan Manages Cost and Quality Using MedVentive Solutions
Virginia Premier Health Plan Inc., an award-winning managed care organization for underserved and vulnerable populations in Virginia, recently selected MedVentive technology to help the health plan and its physician groups to work more closely together to improve member health outcomes while reducing costs. MedVentive President Nancy Ham Hosts ACO Webinar for Washington State Hospital Association
Nancy J. Ham, president and CEO of MedVentive, recently spoke to the Washington State Hospital Association about practical approaches to accepting capitated risk and mistakes to avoid, based on MedVentive’s own experience as an ACO. The January 27, 2011 webinar drew upon the experiences and knowledge of both MedVentive and the American Hospital Association to address the topic: Healthcare Reform: Preparing for Accountable Care Organizations. The session sought to help hospital leaders understand ACOs in the context of the expected ACO rule from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and provide direction on how to go about creating a successful ACO.
