The second annual Health Data Initiative Forum highlights innovative technology
WALTHAM, Mass. – June 9, 2011 – This afternoon MedVentive President & CEO Nancy Ham will present the company’s population and risk management products during The Health Data Initiative Forum held at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. MedVentive was selected to showcase its technology at the forum by The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The Health Data Initiative Forum highlights innovative tools and applications that utilize public health data to improve health outcomes. In addition to company demonstrations, the event features notable speakers including National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, Health and Human Services Chief Technology Officer Todd Park, and Chief Technology Officer of the United States Aneesh Chopra.
“We’re honored to be among a distinguished group of individuals and companies working for better and more affordable healthcare for all Americans,” said Nancy Ham, MedVentive’s president. “MedVentive solutions go beyond basic reporting and analytics to produce actionable insight that drives behavior change for higher quality care at lower costs. We identify actionable opportunities and provide the tools, workflows and detail that empower clinicians to improve the coordination and quality of care.”
MedVentive Population Manager and MedVentive Risk Manager will be showcased at two forum activities: the App Demonstration and the Expo (booth #35). These products support interrelated yet distinct business requirements for Clinical Integration, Medical Home, and Accountable Care initiatives:
- MedVentive Population Manager is an enterprise population management platform that supports clinical integration and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
- MedVentive Risk Manager delivers the capabilities providers need to be successful under risk or value-based contracts with payers and employers.
The Health Data Initiative Forum runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT today. A video webcast is available during and after the event at http://www.iom.edu/healthdataforum.
About MedVentive
While healthcare was evolving the concept of an accountable care organization, MedVentive was busy operating as one. MedVentive was founded as the Provider Service Network (PSN) in 1997 by the CareGroup Healthcare System, an integrated, at-risk network of 4,500 physicians and eight hospitals that cared for more than 450,000 at-risk patients. The network included the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching facility of Harvard Medical School.
Our origins as an ACO give MedVentive a deep understanding of provider organizations and the healthcare environment. Having been an at-risk provider network, MedVentive is uniquely qualified to support an organization’s transition from a fee-for-service payment environment to risk-based contracting, and provide the clinical integration/population management infrastructure necessary to be successful under this new model.
